About Nathan:
A curator of Americana songbook standards and a purveyor of well-crafted originals, Nathan Griffin is an up-and-coming Nashville artist and songwriter with an innovative yet reverent take on roots music.
He is the rare performer who captivates with both style and substance: entrancing listeners with the warm, gravelly timbre of his soulful voice while delivering thoughtful, affecting lyrics that cut through cliches and infuse age-old truths with fresh immediacy.
From old-time, blues and rock to bluegrass and folk, Griffin dabbles in a variety of melodic magics, concocting a diverse catalog of memorable originals–from the haunting dirge “Upon The Wind” to the blues-streaked “Unappreciated and Misunderstood,” all the way to full-on fun in the bouncy mountain “Stagecoach.”
He writes with a music historian’s ear for the past and a poet’s perception of the present, achieving an authenticity and a vulnerability that make him stand out even in Nashville’s saturated scene.
You may have heard on the airwaves of Music City’s independent radio station, Lightning 100, where he was featured in the Local Lightning Spotlight. He has also been showcased as a Nashville RAW Artist and earned a coveted recurring invitation to Sunday Writers’ Nights at the iconic Bluebird Cafe.
Griffin is currently performing throughout the region and planning his first full-length studio album.
